What is haidh (Menstruation)?
Menstruation is blood that comes out of a woman’s womb at certain times which is not caused by an illness due to monthly natural cycle.
What is the characteristic of the blood?
- thick black red color
- comes out within a certain period
- hot
- It has a distinctive or unpleasant odor.
The Times of Haidh :
- At least one day a night
- Habitually on one week
- 15 days at the most
Women with regular menstrual cycles
There is the term Mu’taadah, which means: Women who have menstrual habits that are stable and regular. Usually, women will know their habits if they have experienced 3 menstruation periods and each period is always stable and regular.
Example:
- Woman who are accustomed having menstruation for 7 days, then she has entered the holy period since the cessation of blood.
- Woman who are accustomed having menstruation for 10 days, then she has entered the holy period since the cessation of blood.
- Woman who are accustomed having menstruation for 6 days, while at one time her menstruation has stopped her blood on the 4th day and does not come out anymore, then she has entered the holy period since the cessation of blood.
Women with irregular menstrual cycles
If menstruating women experience a period of interruption / stopping of blood followed by the release of a second blood, all periods are considered menstrual periods. With the provision of:
- The second blood does not exceed the maximum menstrual period (15 days).
- The stopping blood is between two periods of blood that had interrupted.
- The first blood come out at least a day and a night.
If a woman experiences menstruation on 1-4, then the blood is cut off and does not come out on 5-7, then the blood comes out again on 8-12, then from the 1st to the 12th is considered to be entirely in menstruation.
